The International Forum of Youth and Green Entrepreneurship in Africa opens its doors in Marrakesh from 19 to 21 June 2018 as part of the Youth initiative to fight against climate change.
LOJIQ, the Moroccan and Quebec youth, has invested heavily to encourage young African and international workers to develop climate change.
The forum was organized as part of an initiative to promote climate change projects called climate initiatives with the financial support of Swiss cooperation.
The Forum welcomed more than 70 people, including 45 young entrepreneurs from 10 African countries and Quebec, as well as 12 speakers and a dozen other people, including journalists and representatives, entrepreneurs, cooperation organizations and public institutions. .
The forum began on the evening of 18 June with the presentation of the participants and the intervention of the representative of the Swiss Cooperation. Subsequently, many sharing and exchange experiences were organized around the opportunities and challenges of green entrepreneurship.
Several support programs were also presented, followed by field visits on June 21 to close the event.
Among the objectives clarified during the forum, the youth initiative to fight against climate change was the most targeted by the participants.
With the presence of the Ministry of International Relations, the Youth Initiative for Combating Climate Change has set up a project aimed not only at building the capacities of the most vulnerable countries in the face of climate change, particularly the countries of the world. Sub-Saharan Africa, from North Africa, but has also facilitated education and awareness of youth climate issues to ensure the mobilization of those living in the most vulnerable countries to climate change.
Long applauded by the participants, the project received the full support of LOJIQ for its implementation and the Institute of La Francophonie for sustainable development.
The organizers said they will continue to support green entrepreneurs in their efforts to combat climate change so that all countries in Africa and beyond can benefit from sustainable and inclusive development.
