APC Scribe Calls Comrades Home to Face Inquest

National Secretary General of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Ambassador Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh says the party has called on all those former government functionaries whose names were mentioned in the recently published Governance Transition Team (GTT) Report to return home to face the proposed Commission of Inquiry.

According to the APC scribe, those mentioned should come home to clear their names for the records.

“The APC is not afraid of the proposed Commission as long as it is legally instituted. What we are against is for the current government to impose on us an illegal Commission that is aimed at witch-hunting our members, which is why we have decided to seek redress at the Supreme Court to interpret the constitution,” said the APC scribe.

The APC, he said, has trust and confidence in the judiciary and will therefore accept its judgment on whether or not the proposed Commission of Inquiry should commence under the circumstance. “We must go by the rule of law,” he maintained
