It was not clear when exactly the pictures were taken but news making the rounds on social media indicates leaks and associating malpractice to the ongoing West Africa Senior Secondary School Examinations.
The English Language Paper in schedule for Thursday May 9, 2019, timetable was leaked last night and pictures of the paper are all over the social media.Authorities at the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) have yet to put out a statement on this but many are now calling for the Anti-Corruption Commission to step up an investigation into this allegation.
A good number of students writing the current exams are full of criticisms over the watertight security measures put in place this time to prevent examinations mishaps. It is not clear whose point of responsibility was complicit in this latest drama.
Examination malpractices were commonplace in Sierra Leone in the recent past. Last year, the Anti-Corruption Commission led a joint raid operation with the police and cracked down close to hundred students who were writing the private WASSCE exams some areas in the West of Freetown. They were convicted recently.
