SLPP rejects Kono by-election results

The Sierra Leone People’s Party has petitioned the provisional results of ward 099 constituency 030 for 4 polling centers citing cases of electoral malpractice.

The petition also claims that some SLPP Party agents in a certain polling station were arrested and taken to a Police Station for an hour before they were released.

The SLPP are also alleging that thugs interrupted voting process in Shalom Primary school amongst other pooling centres where they say violence was reported.

The petition letter was read by Commissioner Aiah Mattia who is the commissioner for the Eastern Region. According to commissioner Mattia, it is mandatory upon the commission to look into petition matters during provisional results and address them as the case may be.
