Bitter leaf is Sweet Business

Read the attached information on the many benefits of the bitter leaf found in the tropical rain forest’s regions of Africa. Scientists tell us that about 60 percent of species on planet earth are in the tropical rain-forest’s regions of the world.  Sub-Saharan Africa is part of the tropical rain forests’ regions of the world. Environmentalists tell us that scientists know only about two percent of what these species can be used for. For millennia, traditional herbalists in Africa have had knowledge of leaves and roots and tree barks to make medicines – which the best scientists in the world don’t know about.

Africans have been destroying these tropical rain-forests at accelerated pace over the past seventy years especially. Farmers using slash-and-burn farming methods to grow food… Destroy the tropical rain-forests. Governments in Africa have been told by the World Bank and other Western institutions…to grow cash crops – palm oil; cocoa; coffee, etc. – to earn foreign currency to modernize their economies… Destroy these tropical rain-forests.

Mining companies owned largely by Europeans and Americans (lately, Chinese) to exploit our diamonds, gold, bauxite, cobalt, etc.  … Destroy the tropical rain-forests.
Logging companies owned by Europeans and Americans (lately Chinese) to get timber to make fine furniture in their home countries… Destroy the tropical rain-forests.
Africans have been getting very little for this massive destruction of their invaluable tropical rain-forests and ‘trade’ with the West – just like during the four hundred years of the Atlantic Slave Trade, Africans got very little for that ‘trade’.

In 1987, I was the brain and CEO of the SAVE MY FUTURE CONSERVATION SOCIETY (SAMFU) in Liberia.  In 1989, the World Wide Fund for Nature-International and German Forestry Mission to Liberia financed SAMFU to produce and publish GREENLOVE magazine. I was Editor for the magazine.  I wrote the cover story which postulated that the mystique and mystery of the tropical rain-forests should be used as a ‘bargaining chip’ by Africans as they engage the West to wrestle from the West….

A ‘Marshall Plan’ for Africa  – massive transfer of financing from the West to Africa, like happened after the Second World War when the United States sent to Europe significant financing for its post-war reconstruction.

The tropical rain-forests can also be used as bargaining chip for Reparations for the Protracted Holocaust of the Atlantic Slave Trade.

In 1992, in Calabar, Cross River State in southeastern Nigeria: I hatched the SLAVE SHIP-FREEDOM SHIP concept – which fuses the thought of the Atlantic Slave Trade with environmental degradation, and global warming; and the need for Marshall Plan for Africa; Reparations for the Atlantic Slave Trade.

In April, 2018, in Lagos, Nigeria, I reignited the SLAVE SHIP-FREEDOM SHIP idea. I have been floating this vision: “$2 trillion annually for man-made Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation measures in Africa from the richest nations of the world”.
I am hopeful that Africans would overcome their chronic inferiority complex and give support to these ideas. Big ideas are not for a person, or, a company, or an organization. The ideas of the SLAVE SHIP-FREEDOM SHIP are for the emancipation of the African; to save humanity from the existential threat of Climate Change.

Thoughts and words are powerful.  I have written many articles on this: all things that are man-made are the emanations of human thoughts and words.  Reflect on that fundamental reality and you would realise that there is nothing man-made which cannot be overcome, or, improved on – that includes the current unjust predatory global systems which have resulted in man-made Climate Change.

Instead of the nightmarish scenarios being predicted by credible scientific institutions and scientists around the world for Africa, I say Africa must transform emerging Climate Change realities to overturn the unjust global systems, and usher in a GOLDEN AGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AND INCLUSIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH ERA FOR AFRICA.  I believe that.

Believe it too!

Spread the word intensely to all Africans, and well-meaning people on planet earth.

Africans must go into Green Preventative War Mode now!

I pause,

Oswald Hanciles, The Guru.
