Iran Says Large Ground Forces Remain Deployed Along Its Borders

Iran has kept large numbers of army ground forces deployed along its borders since the US-Israeli strikes on February 28, according to Brigadier General Ali Jahanshahi, commander of the Iranian army’s ground forces.

Jahanshahi said on Sunday that the deployment was intended to respond to potential threats. He said the forces included special units, rapid response teams, mechanised formations and artillery units.

According to the army commander, the deployed troops are maintaining a high level of combat readiness. The number of personnel involved was not provided.
