The company has said the device will expand to additional markets, including Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Southeast Asia and other regions. However, Honor has not announced local launch dates or official prices for Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya or other markets covered by the rollout plans.
Flagship hardware and camera features
The Magic9 Pro Max includes two 200-megapixel cameras developed with ARRI. The partnership also supports ARRI CINEMA Mode, which can record video at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. Honor says ARRI’s involvement extends to colour recording and later editing of footage.
The phone has a 6.8-inch display with a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. Honor claims a peak brightness of 10,000 nits, although that figure applies to small bright areas under special conditions.
Power comes from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, described in the supplied specifications as a 2nm processor. The device is equipped with an 8,800mAh battery, supports 100W wired charging and offers 80W wireless charging.
Honor lists IP68 and IP69/IP69K protection ratings for the phone. The company also notes that protection may weaken through wear, while its warranty excludes water damage. The device ships with MagicOS 11, based on Android 17, and includes 3D face unlock and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
China price and accessories
The standard Magic9 Pro Max starts at CNY 6,499 in China. A conversion cited in the supplied information puts that at roughly ₦1.29 million using an exchange rate of about ₦198 to the yuan. The estimate does not include shipping, customs duties, seller margins or changes in exchange rates.
Honor also sells a Master Photographer Package priced at CNY 10,999. The package adds camera accessories to the phone. Separately, the company offers G200 and G500 clip-on teleconverter lenses, described as providing 200mm and 500mm views respectively. The G200 is reported to weigh 88 grams.
The Magic9 Pro Max is available in four RAM and storage versions, although the supplied information does not provide the individual configurations or their China prices. The phone is listed in Moss Green, Shadow Black and Glacier Silver, with an all-metal unibody frame.
What prospective importers should check
Imported units may appear in local shops before an official regional release. Buyers and importers should therefore confirm the market version, software support, network compatibility, warranty terms and repair arrangements before purchasing.
Honor promises seven years of Android and security updates for its Magic flagship phones beginning in European Union markets. It remains unclear whether that commitment will apply to China-imported units. Honor’s China service terms provide a one-year warranty for buyers there, but international warranty coverage has not been confirmed.
The final cost of an imported Magic9 Pro Max will depend on logistics, customs charges, currency movements and seller pricing. Until Honor publishes regional launch details, buyers in African markets should treat China pricing as an indicative reference rather than an official local price.
