On 30 September 2026, the delegation toured Allengers Medical Systems Limited, where it conducted a factory acceptance test and reviewed medical equipment, manufacturing processes and quality-control procedures before deployment.
Focus on maintenance and equipment support
The visit is centered on equipment operation, servicing, preventive maintenance and lifecycle management. Discussions with the company’s technical team also covered technical support, access to spare parts and supply-chain arrangements intended to help reduce equipment downtime in Sierra Leonean hospitals.
The engagement was facilitated by JSS Medical Distributors (SL). It also included consideration of biomedical engineering training, with the Sierra Leonean delegation exploring technical programmes that could help local personnel maintain sophisticated medical equipment after installation.
The Ministry of Health’s effort forms part of broader plans to strengthen hospital equipment systems and support the operationalization of facilities under the National Hospital Strategy. The strategy includes ensuring that health facilities have functional and properly maintained equipment.

The delegation is led by Ibrahim Foday-Musa, Director of Hospital and Ambulance Services.
