Table Of Content
Apple announced the Nigerian rollout on September 15 and said the service would become available before the end of September 2026. However, the company has not released an exact launch date, and the rollout could happen in stages for different users.
What the iCloud+ bundle includes
Every paid Nigerian iCloud+ plan will include Apple TV and Apple Arcade, as well as cloud storage and Apple Music Select. The free 5GB iCloud plan will not include the two entertainment services.
The entry-level paid plan provides 50GB of storage and costs ₦1,300 per month. Apple has confirmed five paid iCloud+ plans for Nigeria, although the supplied details do not specify the full pricing structure for each tier.
Apple TV will provide access to the company’s original films, series, documentaries, comedies and children’s programming. Apple Arcade will offer more than 200 games without advertisements or in-app purchases.
Apple Music Select is a more limited service. It provides ad-free programmed stations, but subscribers cannot select individual songs, albums or playlists in the same way they can with the full Apple Music service.
Family sharing and existing subscribers
Subscribers will be able to use Family Sharing to extend Apple TV and Apple Arcade access to up to five additional people at no extra cost. That means a single plan can serve up to six people, including the paying subscriber.
Family members will use their own Apple Accounts rather than sharing login details. Their personal files, photos, documents and viewing histories will remain private, although the iCloud storage capacity will be shared.
Existing iCloud+ customers are expected to receive Apple TV and Apple Arcade automatically without paying an additional fee. Apple TV and Apple Arcade will no longer be offered as standalone subscriptions in Nigeria once the bundle is introduced.
Apple says affected standalone subscribers will receive a push notification and an email about the change. Their access should not be interrupted, and Apple Arcade progress and saved data will carry over during the transition.
Apple One subscribers can keep their current plans or switch to iCloud+ through their subscription settings.
Access and content availability
The service will be available through supported devices, web browsers and the Apple TV app. Users will not need an Apple TV 4K hardware box to watch, and Nigerians will be able to subscribe using a Nigerian Apple Account without changing their account region or using foreign billing details.
Apple has not confirmed whether Formula 1, Major League Soccer or Friday Night Baseball content promoted in some other countries will be available in Nigeria. Apple TV and Apple Arcade catalogues can vary by country and device, and the company has not announced Nigerian films or series for the launch.
Apple is also offering discounted full Apple Music subscriptions to iCloud+ customers in Nigeria. The Individual plan is priced at ₦1,500 per month, while the Family plan costs ₦2,500 per month, with both purchased directly from Apple.
Apple’s entry iCloud+ price is below the reported ₦2,500 starting price for Netflix’s cheapest Nigerian plan, although the two services offer different types and amounts of content. The Nigerian launch forms part of Apple’s wider expansion of Apple TV into more than 100 countries, bringing its reported global reach to 170 countries.
