The company has not yet released the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max’s full specifications, price, exact launch date or global availability. Reports citing Xiaomi president Lu Weibing place the China launch in September 2026, although the precise date has not been confirmed.
Rear display confirmed
Xiaomi’s teaser shows a display positioned around the rear camera area. The image appears to show two camera lenses within the screen and a third lens below it. However, Xiaomi has not detailed the display’s size, software features or possible artificial-intelligence functions.
The rear display is the clearest confirmed feature so far. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is otherwise expected to be Xiaomi’s largest flagship for 2026, alongside a smaller Xiaomi 18 Pro and the Xiaomi 18 Fold.
Possible specifications remain unconfirmed
Leaks suggest that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could use Qualcomm’s next flagship mobile platform, possibly carrying the name Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Reports have also linked the chip to a 2nm manufacturing process, but Qualcomm has not confirmed either detail.
Other reported specifications include a 6.9-inch flat LTPO OLED display with 2K-class resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Camera leaks point to a possible 200-megapixel main camera, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. These specifications have not been announced by Xiaomi.
Battery reports differ, placing the expected capacity between 8,000mAh and 8,500mAh. One detailed report cites an 8,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone may also run HyperOS 4 on Android 17, although Xiaomi has not published a final software specification.
Global release remains uncertain
Two device model numbers, 2609BPN61G and 2611FPNFAG, appear in a Eurasian Economic Commission certification listing. An unnamed tipster has identified them as the global Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and global Xiaomi 18, respectively, but the listing itself does not name the devices. Certification alone does not confirm that either phone will be launched globally.
The uncertainty is significant because the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max remained exclusive to China. Xiaomi has not confirmed whether the new Pro models will be sold outside that market, including in Nigeria. A future Chinese version could also differ from a global model in Google-service access, network compatibility, software features and language support.
Pricing has not been announced
There is no verified price for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. One leak suggests that the smaller Xiaomi 18 Pro could cost about 20% more than its predecessor, but that report does not establish the price of the Pro Max.
For comparison, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max launched in China at CNY 5,999 for 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, CNY 6,299 for 16GB and 512GB, and CNY 6,999 for 16GB and 1TB. It also featured a 7,500mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging in China.
Until Xiaomi makes further announcements, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max’s final hardware, pricing and release markets remain subject to change.
