Two Women Appear in South African Court as Tenth Body Is Found

Two South African women in their thirties appeared in court on Monday in connection with the alleged killing of Jabulile Ntimba, as police reported finding a tenth body in Kempton Park.

Ntimba was one of nine women whose bodies were discovered in the area over a period of two months. The findings have prompted alarm and anger.

Charges brought against two women

Prosecutors said the two women face charges of murder, perverting the course of justice and possessing a dangerous weapon.

The women were among three people arrested over the weekend in connection with Ntimba’s killing. The third suspect is the brother of one of the female defendants. He had not been charged at the time of the report because of insufficient evidence.

Police found a tenth body, although the identity of that person was not provided.

Police investigate possible motive

Police suspect the killing may have arisen from a relationship-related matter, including what has been referred to as a love triangle. That possibility has not been established as fact.

The two women are due to return to court on October 1 for a bail hearing.
