It also reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strengthening customer relationships and delivering improved banking experiences.
Themed activities across five days
The first day adopted the “Old Money” theme, with employees wearing classic and sophisticated outfits associated with timeless style and professionalism.
On the second day, staff embraced “The Matrix,” using futuristic fashion styles to reflect the theme. The third day, titled “A Walk in Their Shoes,” saw employees represent people from different professions, including construction workers and other essential service providers.
The bank said the third-day activity was intended to encourage empathy and help employees better understand customers from diverse backgrounds.
The fourth day featured the “Y2K” theme, while the final day was dedicated to “African Heritage.” Employees wore traditional and African-inspired clothing during the closing activities, which highlighted Africa’s traditions, diverse identities and shared heritage.
Customer appreciation initiative
UBA Sierra Leone’s Customer Experience team also organized a Lucky Dip promotion for customers as part of the week’s activities. Participants had opportunities to receive gifts such as UBA-branded notebooks, pens, provisions and other items.
The bank’s Executive Director, who was also serving as Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, presented gifts to customers, exchanged handshakes and interacted with beneficiaries during the promotion.
UBA described the Lucky Dip as an appreciation initiative recognizing the continued patronage of its customers. The celebration combined employee participation with direct engagement with the individuals and businesses served by the bank.
Commitment to service improvement
UBA Sierra Leone said the week’s activities reflected its determination to keep improving customer experiences, respond to emerging needs and maintain the trust of its customers.
The bank also emphasized that going the extra mile should extend beyond a themed observance and form part of its everyday approach to customer service.
