Carlos Queiroz leaves Ghana post after brief second spell

Carlos Queiroz has left his position as Ghana coach for the second time in a few months after the Ghana Football Association agreed to end his contract.
The association said the decision was reached by mutual agreement and was in the best interests of the national team. No replacement had been announced.
Short second spell
Queiroz returned to lead Ghana’s Black Stars on September 3, but his second spell lasted only about one month. His departure followed disappointing results in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying, including a 2-0 defeat to Ivory Coast and a 4-2 loss to Gambia.
The 73-year-old coach had previously taken charge of Ghana in April, replacing Otto Addo. He resigned after Ghana was eliminated from the World Cup following a 1-0 defeat by Colombia.
In comments attributed to Queiroz, the coach said he had returned determined to help build a stronger future for the Black Stars. He also acknowledged that the necessary conditions for that work had not been fully established, without specifying those conditions.
The latest termination brings an abrupt end to Queiroz’s renewed involvement with Ghana after a brief return to the post. The Ghana Football Association has not yet named the team’s next coach.
