East End Lions Football Club has completed construction of a new artificial-turf football pitch at the Trade Centre, providing the Sierra Leone club with a facility that is now ready for use.
The project was completed under the leadership of the club’s Executive Chairman, Ambassador Anthony Junior Navo. The pitch is expected to serve as East End Lions’ home venue throughout the 2026/2027 football season, which is scheduled to begin on 10 October 2026.
Investment in club facilities
East End Lions, popularly known as the “Killers,” has presented the development as an investment in the club’s infrastructure and in football infrastructure in Sierra Leone. The project is also described as part of a longer-term plan to give players a quality surface for training and competitive matches.
The completion has been linked to Navo’s stated commitment to improving facilities for players and supporting the wider development of football in Sierra Leone. Details about the pitch’s construction cost, dimensions, contractor and funding arrangements were not provided.
