Fourteen Police Officers Certified in Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity

On August 7, 2024, fourteen police officers were certified by Sky Vision College after completing an intensive course in ethical hacking and cybersecurity.

During the certification ceremony, Inspector General of Police (IGP) William Fayia Sellu emphasized the significance of technological innovation in achieving the strategic goals of the Sierra Leone Police, aligning with President Julius Maada Bio's initiatives.

IGP Sellu acknowledged the progress made with the help of Jerry, a retired U.S. military officer, who enhanced the police's ability to investigate and prosecute cases, including the incidents of August 10, 2022, and the attempted coup on November 26, 2023.

"It is essential to equip personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills," Sellu stated, explaining the partnership with Sky Vision College. He reiterated his commitment to investing in cybersecurity initiatives and highlighted the importance of continuous learning for police officers.

Sellu also expressed gratitude to Shekhar Kadam, the principal of the college, for supporting police training initiatives. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to the graduates and a group photo with IGP Sellu.
