
Sierra Leone Confirms 53 New Mpox Cases, 74 Recoveries, and 25 Total Deaths
The Government of Sierra Leone has reported 53 new cases of Mpox, as of 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 17. While the number of infections continues to rise, there’s also encouraging news: 74 more people have recovered, bringing hope to families and health workers across the country.
Since the outbreak began, 4,151 people have been confirmed to have the virus. Out of those, 3,442 have made full recoveries, while the death toll stands at 25. Currently, 684 active cases remain under monitoring.
Where Are the Cases Coming From?
The Western Urban district is bearing the heaviest burden, with 2,425 confirmed cases, followed by Western Rural with 829. Other affected districts include:

Who’s Being Affected?
So far, the virus has affected 2,177 males and 1,974 females, showing a nearly even gender distribution.
