"Eastern Technical University Kailahun Triumphs in Street Parade, Unveiling Accessible Education Opportunities"
On January 9, 2024, the Eastern Technical University Kailahun took to the streets to showcase its vibrant presence in the community. Led by the campus coordinator, Mr. Samuel Tamba, along with dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, the institution organized a street parade involving its first-year students. The aim was to raise awareness and let the general public know about the existence of this educational hub.
In an impassioned speech, Mr. Tamba assured everyone, including those with Five credits in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WaSSCE), that they have the opportunity to join the institution. He highlighted the advantage of proximity, emphasizing that residents of the district no longer need to bear the high costs of transportation, accommodation, and meals in distant places like Kenema and Bo. Mr. Tamba also emphasized the strong connection between the main campus in Kenema and its various sub-campuses.
Saffa Lamin, a remarkable student and the Student Union President, known as Born Black, expressed pride in being a part of the institution. He encouraged prospective students to utilize the administrative door to secure admission. Currently, the university offers courses in TC, HTC primary, and HTC secondary.
The event not only showcased the enthusiasm of the students and staff but also emphasized the institution's commitment to providing accessible education to the local population.
