
Education Ministry Condemns Alleged Misconduct by Regional Coordinator in Assault Case
The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has strongly condemned the alleged involvement of the Free Quality Education Regional Coordinator North in a sexual assault case involving his official driver and a minor.
According to a press release dated February 7, 2025, the Ministry became aware of the case through a social media post, which claimed that the Coordinator had threatened the victim and her mother, implying that no action would be taken.
MBSSE denounced the alleged behavior as misconduct and violence against minors, emphasizing that the safety of students, especially girls, remains a top priority. The Ministry has launched an internal investigation and pledged to provide support to the victim and her family.
“We take all allegations of abuse seriously and are committed to ensuring justice and accountability,” the statement read.
The Ministry also warned against any attempts to intimidate or interfere with the investigation, affirming that the matter has been officially reported to the police. Authorities have been urged to follow due process and take necessary legal action.
MBSSE reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safe learning environment and encouraged anyone with information about similar incidents to come forward.
