Kamboi Senior Secondary School Leads 2025 WASSCE with 100% University Entry Success

Kamboi Senior Secondary School in Kenema has emerged as the top-performing institution in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), with all ten of its candidates qualifying for direct university admission.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Conrad Sackey, who revealed the schools that excelled in this year’s national exams. Kamboi Senior Secondary School stood out by ensuring every student earned credit passes in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

Kabala Christian Secondary School also achieved remarkable results, with every candidate meeting the minimum university entry requirement. In a statement, the school expressed pride in its success, crediting the dedication of teachers and staff for the impressive outcome.

According to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), a total of 143,985 students took the exam across Sierra Leone. However, results for 13,213 candidates were withheld due to suspected irregularities, while over 3,500 others were not released because of unpaid school fees.

The Ministry urged all schools and students to collect their results from designated centers and use them as a guide for their next academic and career steps.
