President Bio Appoints Mohamed Rahman Swaray as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs

President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone has designated Mohamed Rahman Swaray, the current Minister of Employment, Labour, and Social Security, to serve as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This strategic decision arises due to the absence of the substantive Minister and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from Sierra Leone.

In an official letter issued by the President, it was stated:

“I write to inform you that it has pleased His Excellency the President to appoint you to act as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the absence of the substantive Minister and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from the jurisdiction of Sierra Leone.

This appointment will terminate on the return to Sierra Leone of the substantive Minister or Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.”

Mohamed Rahman Swaray will undertake the responsibilities of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation until the return of the substantive Minister or Deputy Minister. This appointment underscores the President’s confidence in Swaray’s capabilities and expertise to lead the crucial ministry during this interim period.
