In a pivotal address from the Presidential Lodge in Freetown, President Maada Bio reassured the nation following an alarming breach of security at the Military Barracks in Wilberforce, Freetown. Unidentified assailants targeted the military armory, but swift action by our resilient Security Forces repelled the attackers, restoring calm.

 

President Bio acknowledged the need for continued vigilance and announced a nationwide curfew, urging citizens to stay indoors as Security Forces collaboratively pursue the assailants who fled the scene. Emphasizing the immeasurable value of peace, President Bio reaffirmed the government's commitment to safeguarding Sierra Leone's stability.

 

Undeterred, he expressed unwavering determination to protect democracy, calling on all Sierra Leoneans to unite in this collective responsibility.
