President Bio Likened to Sir Milton Margai by Hon. Manso Dumbuya
Hon. Manso Dumbuya, Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) for the Western Region, has praised President Julius Maada Bio, calling him the most progressive leader Sierra Leone has seen since the late Sir Milton Margai. This statement was made in recognition of President Bio’s achievements during his six years in office.
The chairman organized a gathering at Unity Hall in Freetown to express gratitude to the president and renew the party’s commitment to supporting his leadership. The Western Region, home to over 30% of the national electorate, holds significant political influence, and the event saw a large turnout from SLPP members, who voiced their appreciation for the president’s leadership and achievements, including securing the MCC Grant and progress across various sectors.
During the event, the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Prince Alex Harding, applauded the efforts of Hon. Dumbuya and the party members in the Western Region for organizing the gathering. He highlighted the party’s continued dedication to improving the lives of Sierra Leoneans, despite the challenges posed by opposition groups.
Hon. Dumbuya emphasized that President Bio had pulled the country back from the brink of economic collapse and positioned Sierra Leone for national progress. He attributed Bio’s success to his handling of state affairs and pointed out significant accomplishments in education, health, energy, and infrastructure since 2018. He particularly noted the government’s commitment to the Free Quality Education (FQE) initiative, which has increased school enrollment and provided more resources for students.
Dumbuya likened Bio to Sir Milton Margai, Sierra Leone’s first Prime Minister and a revered figure in the country’s history. He concluded by reaffirming the Western Region’s unwavering loyalty to President Bio and the SLPP, citing their determination to continue supporting his leadership despite challenges posed by opposition forces.
