President Bio to Deliver Keynote at Oxford's OpenAg Symposium
Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio, will give the keynote speech at the 4th OpenAg Symposium, taking place today at the University of Oxford. The event, beginning at 4 PM local time, is themed "Power Plants: Transforming Food, Energy, and Water Security through Agriculture."
The symposium, organized by the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development in collaboration with the Government of India, highlights the role of agriculture in tackling global challenges like climate change. UPL, a global leader in sustainable agriculture, co-organizes the event.
Focusing on sustainable farming practices, the symposium aims to show how these methods can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the resilience of food, water, and energy systems. Following his address, President Bio will head to New York for the UN General Assembly, accompanied by First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio.
