Sierra Leone’s Deputy Inspector General of Police, Aiah Edward Samadia, Retires

Aiah Edward Samadia, the Deputy Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police, has officially retired as of Wednesday, February 5, 2025, after reaching the mandatory retirement age.

Samadia was appointed to the role on July 13, 2024, following the passing of his predecessor, DIG Kaillie, who fell ill shortly after assuming office.

His retirement marks a significant moment in the police force, as he becomes the first Deputy Inspector General to step down through retirement rather than dismissal or removal.
