
Sierra Leone’s Planning Minister Appreciates Timor-Leste’s Hospitality at g7+ Summit
The Minister of Planning and Economic Development of Sierra Leone, Kenyeh Barlay, has expressed heartfelt appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to her by the people and government of Timor-Leste during the recent high-level g7+ summit in Dili.
Speaking at an official welcome ceremony, Barlay acknowledged the gracious reception and praised the efforts of the hosts for their kindness and support.
“This is my first visit to Dili, and I am truly touched by the warmth and generosity shown by the people of Timor-Leste,” she said, reflecting on the friendly environment and cultural richness of the host nation.
She highlighted the unity among g7+ member countries, describing the group as a family of nations with shared experiences and a mutual commitment to progress and solidarity.
Barlay emphasized the importance of both formal discussions and informal interactions at the summit, noting that such moments help strengthen trust, build lasting friendships, and reinforce collective goals for peace and resilience.
Representing Sierra Leone and all g7+ member states, she extended her gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the g7+ Secretariat in Dili for organizing and hosting the event.
Concluding her speech, Barlay looked forward to continued engagement with fellow delegates, expressing optimism about the outcomes of the summit and appreciation for the warm welcome received.
