Sierra Leone’s Vice President Attends ECOWAS Summit in Abuja
Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has arrived in Abuja to participate in the 66th Extraordinary Session of ECOWAS Heads of State.
Upon his arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, the Vice President was greeted by Sierra Leonean and Nigerian officials, including the country’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Julius F. Sandi, and other diplomatic representatives.
The summit aims to tackle key political, economic, and security challenges affecting West Africa. Leaders from the region are expected to devise collaborative strategies to foster peace, stability, and development.
West Africa continues to face significant hurdles, including economic stagnation linked to global conflicts and the lingering effects of the pandemic. Political instability also remains a concern, with several ECOWAS member states currently under military rule.
This session builds on prior discussions that focused on food security, economic recovery, and regional peace, highlighting the importance of unity and cooperation in overcoming shared challenges.
