Sierra Leone native Ibrahim S. Kabba is promoted to lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army.

 

Lt. Col. Ibrahim S. Kabba, a native of Freetown, Sierra Leone, achieved a significant milestone in his military career by being promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the United States Army. This accomplishment follows his extensive service as a Major over a commendable period of six years.

 

Mr. Cava's journey within the U.S. military began in February 1994 when he joined the U.S. Army Reserve as a combat medical specialist. His dedication, expertise and tireless efforts paved the way for his commendable rise.

 

Ibrahim Kaba was born to Hannah Turay and Abubakar Siddiq Kaba. His roots stretch deep into Sierra Leone. He was raised by his grandparents and has strong family ties with his hometown. In particular, his grandfather, OC Joseph Rahman Mansarai, was a respected figure within the Sierra Leone Police Force. Sadly, Kaba's grandmother Hajah Emma Mansaray, who played an important role in Kaba's upbringing, passed away in Freetown in 2003.

 

Despite the geographical separation, Mr. Kaba remains close to his family in Sierra Leone and cherishes fond memories of his childhood. His family's unwavering support was the foundation of his career and a constant source of encouragement throughout his military career.

 

Lt. Col. Kaba's accomplishment is an inspiration and a proud moment not only for himself, but also for the communities of Sierra Leone and the United States. His dedication, tenacity, and commitment embody his spirit of service and demonstrate the potential for individuals from diverse backgrounds to achieve excellence within the U.S. military.
