Sierra Leone police arrest drug trafficking suspect

 

On Monday, November 6, 2023, the Port Authority Response Team took decisive action to carry out targeted raids in areas suspected to be gray zones. As a result of this operation, Desmond Mansaray was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the possession and distribution of illegal drugs.

 

During the raid, officers located and seized 14 bags containing a substance suspected to be cannabis and 375 packaged bundles of a substance suspected to be Kush. This severe seizure indicated possible illegal drug activity.

 

Desmond Mansaray was taken into custody on suspicion of drug possession and trafficking. Both the suspect and the seized items were then immediately handed over to the Investigation Department for a comprehensive and detailed examination.

 

The Port Authority's operations team is committed to combating criminal activity and ensuring public safety, carrying out a well-coordinated operation to curb the presence and proliferation of illegal drugs in the community. . The swift and organized response demonstrated their commitment to maintaining law and order.

 

The Investigative Unit is currently tasked with further investigating the circumstances surrounding Desmond Mansaray's alleged involvement in the possession and possible distribution of illegal drugs. This step is important to uncover potential networks and relationships associated with such activities.

 

The arrest and subsequent handover of the suspects and the seized items are an important step in continued efforts to take strict action against the possession and trafficking of illegal substances.
