Sierra Leone Police Launches Major Operation Against Drug Cartels in Bo City

Under the directive of Assistant Inspector General of Police, Brima Kanneh, the Sierra Leone Police force has embarked on a significant operation aimed at dismantling drug cartels operating within Bo City.

The operation, executed in collaboration with proactive intelligence services and engaged community members, represents a concerted effort to address the pervasive issue of drug trafficking and organized crime in the region. Targeted raids on known drug dens have resulted in the apprehension of key cartel members and the confiscation of substantial quantities of illicit drugs and weaponry, including implements used in the processing of narcotics such as Kush.

Assistant Inspector General Kanneh underscored the overarching objective of the operation: to disrupt the drug trade, dismantle criminal networks, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice. This initiative underscores the unwavering commitment of the police force to enhance public safety and combat the influence of organized crime within the community.

The operation, which has focused on areas such as Tikonko Road and New York communities, remains ongoing as law enforcement officials continue to pursue leads and gather intelligence to further curtail the activities of drug cartels. The public is encouraged to play an active role in supporting these efforts by promptly reporting any suspicious activities or individuals that may pose a threat to community peace and security.

As the operation progresses, the Sierra Leone Police, under the leadership of Assistant Inspector General Kanneh, remains resolute in its dedication to upholding the rule of law, safeguarding communities, and mitigating the adverse effects of drug trafficking and organized crime.
