EDSA Announces Power Outages in Freetown Due to Severe Weather

The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has released a list of areas in Freetown affected by power outages following recent heavy rains. The severe weather caused fallen poles, cut wires, and sparks on distribution lines, disrupting electricity supply in many parts of the city.

 

EDSA has deployed technical teams to the affected areas for repairs and maintenance but informed the public that power may not be restored by the end of today, July 22, 2024.

 

The affected areas include:

- Sierra Light House and surroundings

- Between Mandallay substation and POW

- National Stadium and surroundings

- Kinbima Hotel and surroundings

- YOUYI Building

- George Brook to New England Ville

- Tengbeh Town

- Murray Town

- Rawdon Street

- Government Wharf

- Savage Square to PCMH

- Tower Hill to FBC and beyond

- Circular Road by the cemetery

- Eastern Police to Savage Square

- Eastern Police to PCMH

- Foreign Affairs to Ordinance Yard

- Wilberforce (partial disruption)

- Hill Station to Choithram Hospital

- Slof by Kissy Dock Yard

- Kaningo (partial disruption)

- Atlantic to Freetown International Hospital (FIH)

 

EDSA aims to complete repairs by July 23, 2024, and apologizes for the inconvenience. Customers experiencing outages of five days or more, not listed above, should contact EDSA's customer service at 672 or via their Facebook page.
