Fire Devastates Business Shops in Koidu City Center
In the early hours of Thursday, November 28, 2024, a fire broke out near the Clock Tower along Main Kainkordu Road in Koidu City, causing significant damage to several small business shops.
The fire, which began around 1:00 AM, prompted a swift response from the Kono Fire Force. Firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
As a precaution, the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) in Kono immediately cut power across Koidu Township to protect lives and property. Power has since been restored, with EDSA assuring residents that the affected area has been secured. Officials continue to monitor the situation closely.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and authorities have urged residents to stay alert while inquiries are ongoing.
