Former Skye Bank Manager’s Manslaughter Trial: Caretaker Provides Crucial Testimony

In the ongoing manslaughter trial of former Skye Bank Manager, Ikubolaje Nicol, at the High Court before Justice Momoh Jah Steven in Freetown, Salifu Bangura emerged as the first prosecution witness, delivering vital evidence.

Under the scrutiny of State Prosecutor Aruna Jalloh, Bangura, a caretaker at Nicol’s residence, recounted the events of October 16th, 2022. He revealed that upon being summoned by Nicol, he found him in a distressing state alongside a woman named Sinnah Kai Kargbo. Bangura proceeded to assist in clothing Kargbo before she was transported to Dr. Shuma Hospital, where she tragically succumbed.

During cross-examination by Defense Counsel Roland Wright, Bangura referenced Kargbo’s admission of feeling dizzy as he helped dress her. Following Bangura’s testimony, the State Counsel sought an adjournment to present two additional witnesses on April 26th, 2024.

This testimony marks a pivotal moment in Nicol’s trial, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding Kargbo’s untimely demise and shaping the trajectory of legal proceedings.
