Hamas warns on people to stay home and ignore Israel's evacuation orders
Hamas called on Palestinians to stay in their homes after Israel issued a general evacuation order for the Gaza Strip.
The Hamas Refugee Affairs Agency on Friday called on residents in the northern part of the region to "remain firmly in their homes and stand firm against this vicious psychological warfare waged by the occupation forces," the Associated Press reported.
Israel has ordered the evacuation of the northern Gaza Strip, including Gaza City, where hundreds of thousands of people live. With Israel completely blockading the Gaza Strip, Palestinians could only flee southward within the Gaza Strip. According to the United Nations, 400,000 Palestinians have already been displaced.
