Ombudsman Meets Sierra Leone Ambassador to Russia

The Ombudsman of Sierra Leone, Tejan Ahmed Israel Jah, paid a formal visit to Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Russia, Mohamed Yongawo, and the embassy staff in Moscow. The visit was part of preparations for the upcoming International Scientific and Practical Conference, where Ombudsman Jah is invited by the Human Rights Commissioners of the Russian Federation. This conference, set for October 10, 2024, will focus on human rights protection in healthcare, bringing together various international participants, including ombudsmen, human rights commissioners, and academics.

 

During the visit, Ombudsman Jah expressed gratitude for the warm reception from Ambassador Yongawo and praised the embassy’s architecture. Their discussions centered on the enduring relationship between Sierra Leone and Russia, along with key diplomatic developments under Ambassador Yongawo’s tenure. The meeting concluded with a friendly lunch, reflecting the strong diplomatic cooperation between the two officials. This visit underscores Sierra Leone’s engagement in international human rights dialogues and diplomatic efforts.
