Police Apprehend Kush Dealer Concealed in Islamic Attire
On the 30th of April, 2024, the Operations Team of the Harbour Police Division successfully apprehended 27-year-old Amadu Hindolo Bangura in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Bangura, a resident of Ashobi Corner along Blackhall Road, attempted to evade capture by disguising himself in Islamic attire. However, his efforts were in vain as he was found in possession of 278 wraps of Kush at Benz garage, where he conducted his illicit drug trade.
In a separate incident, Bai Kargbo, 29, residing at 34 Kissi By-pass Road, Freetown, was also arrested with 20 wraps of Kush at Kamara-Bar Old Road in the eastern part of the city.
Furthermore, during the operation, a significant quantity of Kush was discovered in the bedroom of 19-year-old Lovetta Kabia of Peace Market, Ferry Junction, Freetown. Additionally, a suspicious liquid, believed to be used in the processing of the Kush drug, was found at the scene.
In a statement to the authorities, Kabia expressed her shock, stating, “I stopped selling Kush a week ago due to the persistent raids of the Harbour Police. I never knew there was Kush under my bedroom anymore.”
All suspects, along with the confiscated exhibits, are currently under investigation at the Harbour Police Division.
This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and illicit activities within the region. Such operations are crucial in maintaining public safety and upholding the rule of law.
As the investigation progresses, the authorities urge members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
