Months prior to this announcement, a distressing video depicting the burial of 32 individuals purportedly victims of Kush-related incidents circulated widely on social media, serving as a stark reminder of the urgent need for decisive action to address the drug epidemic.

Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh spearheaded initial efforts to combat the spread of Kush by implementing stringent measures, including the denial of bail to individuals apprehended in possession of the illicit substance.
