Regional Police Operations Team Seizes Significant Cannabis-Sativa Haul in Bo City
On Friday, May 10th, 2024, Superintendent Alhaji Senesie led a routine patrol in Mendewa, Bo City, under the auspices of the Regional Police Headquarters South. During this operation, a substantial quantity of Cannabis-Sativa was uncovered by the vigilant operations team.
Stored discreetly in a brown carton, the illicit substance prompted an immediate and thorough search of the area. Despite the diligence of the officers, no suspects were apprehended at the scene. However, intelligence suggests that a resident named Sulaiman may have ties to the seized cannabis sativa.
Further investigation into the matter revealed that the illicit substance was housed in a two-room residence. Despite the initial suspicions, no additional items of interest were found within the premises.
The Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) has taken charge of the ongoing investigation to determine the individuals responsible for the illegal drug haul. As part of the investigative process, the confiscated Cannabis-Sativa has been securely transferred to the office of Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Inspector General of Police Mr. Brima Kanneh, where it will serve as crucial evidence while efforts to identify claimants are underway.
Under the leadership of AIG Kanneh, the operational team remains steadfast in their commitment to combating illegal drug activities throughout the Southern region. Their unwavering vigilance underscores their dedication to enforcing the law and upholding public safety.
As the investigation progresses, the Regional Police Operations Team continues to prioritize the eradication of illicit drug trade in Bo City and beyond, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for all residents.
This significant seizure stands as a testament to the effectiveness of law enforcement efforts in disrupting criminal networks and safeguarding communities from the harmful effects of drug trafficking.
