Sean 'Diddy' Combs Faces Over a Dozen Lawsuits While Awaiting Tribal

Sean "Diddy" Combs, the hip-hop mogul, is currently in federal custody, facing serious charges including racketeering and sex trafficking. His arrest in New York comes amid more than a dozen civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and violence, some dating back to the 1990s.

The lawsuits allege that Combs has used his influence in the entertainment industry to drug, assault, and rape various individuals. Recent claims include an incident involving a 16-year-old boy at a party in 1998 and another allegation from a woman who accuses him of raping her as retaliation for comments about the unsolved murder of rapper Tupac Shakur.

Combs has denied any wrongdoing, maintaining his innocence against the charges. Arrested on September 16, he faces serious allegations of creating a criminal enterprise that abused and coerced women to satisfy his sexual desires while concealing his actions. Prosecutors claim he utilized drugs, violence, and his celebrity status to lure victims into what he called “Freak Offs.” Raids at his residences in Miami and Los Angeles uncovered firearms, ammunition, and a significant amount of lubricant.

While Combs pleads not guilty and is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, his legal team has sought release, citing the facility's harsh conditions. However, prosecutors have argued he is a flight risk, resulting in two denied bail requests. If convicted, he could face a prison sentence ranging from 15 years to life.

Among his accusers is Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, who was in a long-term relationship with Combs. In a lawsuit filed last year, she alleged a history of abuse and violence throughout their decade-long relationship. Combs settled that lawsuit shortly after it was filed, denying any wrongdoing. Footage obtained by media later showed him assaulting her during a 2016 incident, which he subsequently acknowledged and expressed regret for in a public statement.

Since Ventura's lawsuit, numerous others have come forward, including claims of drugging, sexual assault, and violence. Many of these lawsuits were filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, allowing victims to pursue claims regardless of previous statutes of limitation.

Combs's representatives have labeled the lawsuits as attempts to gain publicity and maintain confidence in his legal defenses. His attorneys insist that he has never sexually assaulted anyone, regardless ofage or gender.
