Hawa Hunt Loses Legal Representation Amid Arrest and Controversy

Hawa Hunt, a contestant on the reality show “House of Stars,” is facing mounting challenges following her arrest and the withdrawal of her legal representative.

Hunt was arrested live on television on December 22, 2024, for allegedly making critical remarks about President Bio and First Lady Fatima Bio during the recent election campaign. The arrest sparked debate over its timing, as it followed Admire Bio’s appearance on the same show just a day prior.

Initially, a lawyer offered to represent Hunt pro bono and secured her bail on the conditions of surrendering her Sierra Leonean and Canadian passports and providing two sureties with properties in Freetown. However, Hunt was unable to meet the bail requirements.

The situation took a turn when the lawyer reported receiving a hostile call from Hunt’s daughter in Canada, accusing them of conspiring with authorities. Citing threats to their professional integrity, the lawyer withdrew their services and informed the police.

Shortly after, Hunt was charged in court and remanded in custody. The lawyer expressed disappointment over the developments but wished Hunt and her future legal team well.

Meanwhile, the organizers of “House of Stars” disqualified Hunt from the competition after her five-day deadline to return expired on December 31, 2024.

This unfolding drama has left Hunt navigating both legal and personal challenges as public attention remains fixed on her case.
