Famous Calls Out Kao Denero, Sparks Fresh Debate in Sierra Leone Music Scene
A fresh wave of tension has hit Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry as R&B singer Famous publicly criticizes Entertainment Ambassador Kao Denero, accusing him of hypocrisy over his recent comments about rapper Boss LAJ.
In a video released on April 6, Famous reacted strongly to Kao Denero’s remarks at a recent public event, where the ambassador advised artists to be careful with their words and actions. The statement was widely seen as a subtle jab at Boss LAJ, who is currently facing legal issues.
However, Famous argued that Kao Denero lacks the moral ground to give such advice. He alleged that the ambassador’s past behavior contradicts the message he is preaching, pointing to previous incidents where he claimed Kao Denero acted aggressively and moved with individuals who intimidated others.
The singer also revisited a past legal dispute between them, stating that the case ended only after Kao Denero pleaded for it to be dropped. According to Famous, the issue went beyond financial settlement, insisting that the resolution came through personal appeals rather than money alone.
Interestingly, Famous revealed that Boss LAJ himself played a role in settling the conflict between the two artists, encouraging peace at the time.
The disagreement between Famous and Kao Denero dates back to an incident at a concert in Freetown in February 2025, where Famous alleged he was attacked by individuals linked to the ambassador. The situation escalated into a legal case involving assault and related charges before it was eventually resolved later that year.
Despite his criticism, Famous acknowledged that Boss LAJ’s recent actions were wrong and expressed sympathy toward the Mayor of Kenema. Still, he maintained that Kao Denero’s public comments were unnecessary and did not reflect the role of someone expected to promote unity within the industry.
He concluded by urging for less hostility and more understanding among artists, stressing that the growing tension and negativity in the music scene could be damaging if left unchecked.
