Sierra Leone's VP Jalloh Visits Guinea After Explosion

Sierra Leone's Vice President, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, embarked on a significant mission to Guinea following a recent fire outbreak. Leading a delegation, he aimed to provide medical assistance to those affected by the devastating incident. During the visit, Vice President Jalloh delivered a message of solidarity from President Julius Maada Bo to President Mamady Doumbouya in the wake of the tragic fire that destroyed the oil depot in Conakry.

The delegation, which included the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Heads of the National Disaster Management Agency, Petroleum Regulatory Agency, and a medical team, worked to establish mechanisms for medical support to Guinea. Additionally, Sierra Leone demonstrated its commitment by donating three lorry loads of medical supplies for burn victims. A convoy of 150 lorries was dispatched to Freetown to collect fuel for Conakry, reinforcing Sierra Leone's support for Guinea during this challenging time.

The collaborative efforts received appreciation from President Doumbouya, Prime Minister Goumou, and other senior government officials in Guinea. Sierra Leone's gesture reflects a strong bond of solidarity, emphasizing its commitment to stand by the government and people of Guinea in the face of adversity.

As Sierra Leone extends its support, the delegation's actions, including the delivery of medical aid and the provision of interim architecture for petroleum access, underscore the strength of diplomatic ties between the two nations during times of crisis.
