Southern Sierra Leone Police Successfully Concludes File Modification Awareness Campaign

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) South has successfully concluded its comprehensive sensitization campaign on file modification, led by Police Sergeant 15453 Wuyata Lahai from the Human Resources Department. The initiative, which unfolded throughout November 2023, targeted police officers across various divisions, including the Regional Police Headquarters, Bo West Division, Bo East Division, Zimmi, Gendema, and Pujehun Division.

Sergeant Lahai, at the forefront of this endeavor, underscored the critical importance of officers regularly updating their files. She emphasized the need for accurate and current information to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of police operations. The campaign aimed to instill an understanding of how updated files enable swift and appropriate responses to emergencies and changes in law enforcement dynamics.

"By updating their files, police personnel can stay informed about changes in the force, policies, procedures, and new technologies in law enforcement," remarked Sergeant Lahai during the sessions.

The campaign focused on continuous learning and file updates as crucial contributors to the overall professionalism and competence of the police force. Given the security implications and logistical constraints, the department plans to extend this sensitization to Rutile, Bonthe, and Moyamba Divisions.

Emphasizing adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP), Sergeant Lahai urged all police personnel to consider this topic essential for their operational efficiency. The sensitization covered Updates, NASSIT, and Medicare, concluding with promising outcomes.

The success of this initiative not only enhances the operational preparedness of the police force but also reflects a commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and competence within the Sierra Leone Police. As the force continues to evolve, these efforts contribute to a more informed, agile, and effective law enforcement body.
