Testimony Unveils Coercion in Alleged Coup Attempt as Witness Describes Ordeal

In a compelling court session held on Thursday, Corporal Alfred Methodist Kargbo provided a gripping account of his involvement in what is believed to be a coup attempt on November 26, 2023. Stationed at the 5th Battalion Wilberforce barracks, Kargbo revealed that he was coerced into participating in the plot by Captain Senessie, who remains at large.

The events unfolded on November 25th, as Kargbo noticed suspicious activities within the barracks. He recounted witnessing Captain Senessie's arrival in a vehicle and, subsequently, being threatened with a firearm if he refused to join the coup attempt aimed at toppling President Bio.

Kargbo's harrowing testimony detailed his orders to disarm fellow soldiers and break into the ammunition store. Fearing for his life, he complied with the armed individuals but eventually managed to escape, alerting authorities. This pivotal action led to a thorough investigation and the subsequent court proceedings.

During the cross-examination by defense lawyers, specific details of Kargbo's account were scrutinized. The next hearing is scheduled for January 31st, where further cross-examination will take place.
