"Witness Testifies: Amadu Koita Orchestrated RPG Attack on Pademba Road Prison Gate"

In the ongoing trial for treason, Lieutenant Colonel Sandy provided a harrowing account of being held captive by Amadu Koita and his associates, revealing a sinister plot to attack Pademba Road Prison.

Lt. Col. Sandy, the Commanding Officer of the Joint Provost Unit, detailed Koita's orchestrated plan, which included directing assailants to fire RPGs at the prison gate with the aim of breaching its security perimeter.

Key assailants, such as Staff Sergeant Abu Dauda and Staff Sergeant Idriss Kallon, along with former President Ernest Koroma's Chief Security Officer, Officer Kabba, were identified during the trial. Lt. Col. Sandy explained how he deceived Koita, pretending to be compliant while secretly sabotaging their scheme.

The testimony also uncovered Koita's intentions to raid the Joint Logistics Unit at Murray Town Barracks for arms and ammunition, heightening the severity of his coup attempt. Lt. Col. Sandy's courage and strategic thinking ultimately foiled Koita's nefarious plans, leading to a daring escape that neutralized the threat posed by the assailants.

The courtroom was captivated by Lt. Col. Sandy's testimony, underscoring the resilience of the Sierra Leonean armed forces in the face of imminent danger. Upon adjournment, Judge Advocate Mark Ngegba stressed the importance of Lt. Col. Sandy's account in untangling the intricate web of Koita's failed coup attempt.
