3,000 Metric Tons of Petrol Arrive at Freetown Petrol Jetty from MT Riviera, Owned by Aminata and Son
Freetown, Sierra Leone – A significant shipment of 3,000 metric tons of petrol has arrived at the Freetown Petrol Jetty from the MT Riviera, a vessel owned by Aminata and Son. This substantial delivery is expected to provide much-needed relief to the local market, which has recently experienced fuel shortages.
The arrival was confirmed by Myk Berewa, the Communication Specialist from the Office of the President, following discussions with the head of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA). According to Berewa, the petrol will be promptly unloaded and made available to consumers, addressing the recent difficulties in fuel access.
In addition to this delivery, Berewa also announced that another large shipment is expected later tonight. The NP's MT Kriti is scheduled to dock with a substantial cargo of 15,000 metric tons of petrol. This influx of fuel is anticipated to stabilize the market and ensure a steady supply for the coming weeks.
The recent fuel shortages have posed significant challenges for consumers, affecting transportation and various other sectors reliant on petrol. The government's efforts to secure these shipments highlight their commitment to resolving the fuel crisis and ensuring the availability of essential commodities.
This news brings a sigh of relief to many, as the consistent supply of fuel is critical for the functioning of daily activities and the overall economy in Sierra Leone. The coordination between the Office of the President, the Petroleum Regulatory Agency, and private entities like Aminata and Son exemplifies the collaborative approach needed to address such national issues effectively.
