Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Holds 60th Jalsa Salana in Bo

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Sierra Leone is hosting its 60th Jalsa Salana in Bo, a three-day spiritual gathering that began on February 14 and will conclude on February 16 at the Ahmadiyya School Compound.

The event was officially opened by the President of Jamaat in Morocco, Isam El-Khamsi, and is being led by the Sierra Leone Jamaat leader, Amir Musa Mewa. A key highlight of this year’s gathering is the launch of a translated Quran in Mende, the most widely spoken dialect in Southern Sierra Leone.

Jalsa Salana, an annual convention first established in 1891 in Qadian, India, serves as a platform for deepening religious knowledge, fostering brotherhood, and promoting personal growth. The event features speeches on Islamic teachings, prayers, and discussions on social and moral issues.

Held in many countries worldwide, Jalsa Salana is renowned for its focus on peace, humanitarian service, and unity. Some of the largest gatherings take place in the UK, Germany, and Canada, drawing thousands of participants each year.
