Air Sierra Leone Flight Returns to Airport After False Alert Mid-Flight

A flight operated by Air Sierra Leone on its way from Freetown to Lagos was forced to return shortly after takeoff due to a cockpit alert.

The plane, which departed at 2:17 p.m., made a precautionary return to the airport at 2:35 p.m. Airline officials confirmed that the crew followed standard safety protocols, and at no point were passengers in danger.

Following an inspection by the airline’s maintenance team and aviation authorities, it was confirmed that the alert was caused by a faulty sensor, and no actual mechanical issue was found.

Once the aircraft received full technical clearance, it resumed its journey at 5:55 p.m., with all passengers safely on board.

The airline has urged the public to rely on official sources for accurate updates and reiterated its commitment to making safety a top priority.
