Babadi Kamara Boosts Kono Football with Generous Support

 

Babadi Kamara, Executive Chairman of Bo Rangers and a prominent candidate for the Sierra Leone Football Association presidency, has significantly bolstered football development in Kono District by contributing NLe 150,000 and 47 footballs to support the Inter-Chiefdom Football Competition.

 

The tournament's second edition began on December 7, 2024, at the Koidu Community Playing Field, with Kamara receiving a warm welcome from enthusiastic supporters. Joined by football stakeholders, local leaders, and social groups, Kamara reaffirmed his dedication to promoting unity and advancing the sport across Sierra Leone.

 

Abubakarr Mansaray, Chairman of the Kono District Football Association, expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing the competition's role in fostering collaboration among the district's 14 chiefdoms and nurturing young talent. Ibrahim Kuyateh, Acting Vice Chairman of the Eastern Region Football Association, echoed these sentiments, praising Kono’s hospitality and endorsing Kamara’s leadership aspirations.

 

Kamara highlighted his personal ties to Kono, reflecting on past contributions to the district’s development, including infrastructure projects and support for local teams. He stressed the importance of fair play, discipline, and addressing challenges like violence and substance abuse in football.

 

As the tournament continues, Kamara's support is seen as a game-changer for football in Kono, reinforcing the district’s potential as a hub for emerging talent. His contributions have sparked optimism about the future of Sierra Leonean football under his visionary leadership.
