SLFA President Strengthens Ties with Leone Rock Metal Group, Unveils New Premier League Board
The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting football in the country by visiting Leone Rock Metal Group—a company that has become a cornerstone of support for Sierra Leonean football.
During the visit, President Kamara, joined by Acting General Secretary Mohammed Benson Bawoh, officially introduced the newly formed Men’s Premier League Board to Leone Rock’s management team. They were warmly welcomed by the company’s Chief Technical Officer, Salim Sillah, who reiterated Leone Rock’s dedication to the continued growth of the sport.
Leone Rock Metal Group has been a consistent corporate ally of the Premier League. The company made headlines last season when it increased its sponsorship from $80,000 to an impressive $150,000—an investment that significantly strengthened the league’s operations.
In his remarks, President Kamara praised Leone Rock’s unwavering partnership, emphasizing that the company’s support goes beyond football—it contributes to youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and national unity. He noted that football helps maintain social stability, providing young people with positive opportunities instead of negative influences such as drugs or irregular migration.
“Football remains one of the strongest forces for unity and progress in our nation,” Kamara stated. “Leone Rock’s continued investment is not just about sponsorship—it’s a contribution to peace, development, and the future of our youth.”
He further announced that the newly appointed Premier League Board will collaborate with both local and international stakeholders to enhance the league’s professionalism, visibility, and competitiveness.
The meeting ended with both parties pledging to strengthen their partnership for the long term, ensuring that Sierra Leone’s football continues to thrive on and off the field.
