ChildFund Sierra Leone Warns Public About Fake Breastfeeding Workshop
ChildFund Sierra Leone is alerting the public about a fake breastfeeding workshop being falsely promoted using the organization's name.
Reports indicate that more than 200 individuals have already been deceived, with some paying registration or participation fees under the impression that they were signing up for a workshop hosted by ChildFund.
The organization has made it clear that it has no connection to this event and has not authorized any individual, group, or third-party to organize such a workshop or collect money on its behalf.
> “We want to make it absolutely clear that ChildFund is not organizing any such workshop,” a representative stated. “We have not authorized anyone to collect funds or recruit participants on our behalf.”
ChildFund also emphasized that it does not charge fees for participation in any of its programs or recruitment processes.
> “This is a case of impersonation and fraud,” the organization added. “We are deeply concerned about the emotional and financial impact on those affected and are taking steps to report the matter to law enforcement for investigation.”
Members of the public are being strongly advised to disregard any messages or communications promoting this fake workshop. ChildFund reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and urged the public to verify any information using its official communication channels.
Since 1985, ChildFund Sierra Leone has been supporting children living in poverty, helping them build brighter futures and become leaders in their communities. This fraudulent incident does not reflect the organization's values or operations.
